The Portuguese club, Sporting CP has officially unveiled the third kit for this year as Sporting CP honor Cristiano Ronaldo. This newly launched kit is released in honor of Cristiano Ronaldo for the season 2024-2025.
Sporting CP Unveils Third Kit
Every club has 4 kits for a football season, one for home, one for away matches, and the third one is the alternate kit. Sporting CP has released a new kit which honors the famous Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo. The kit includes the number 7 which was the number Ronaldo wore during his time at Real Madrid. He also wore the same number at Manchester United, Juventus, and currently at Al Nassr as well. Number 7 is always affiliated with Ronaldo after his famous achievements in football. Sporting CP said in a statement:
There are numbers that leave a Legacy: the next 7 could be you! In honor of Cristiano Ronaldo, we invite you to wear the third kit of the 24/25 season.

The front of the kit has number 7 painted in gold color. Sporting CP unveiled the new kit on social media where Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. was seen wearing the new kit in style. A post on the Twitter account from the Portuguese club stated:
And we associate ourselves with the person who, better than anyone, could wear this jersey: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. So, we invite you to wear the number 7 jersey, the third kit of the 2024/2025 season.
Kit In Honor Of Ronaldo
Sporting CP also revealed a kit in honor of Cristiano Ronaldo last year where the initials ‘CR7’ were mentioned. For this year, the initials of ‘CR7’ were removed although the kit color is very similar to the one released last year. Sporting CP also honored the home ground of the club, Estadio Jose Alvalade in last year’s edition of the kit. The newly appointed kit for the year 2024-2025 has the words ‘super bock’ printed on the back of the kit. Portuguese club unveiled the kit last year while stating:
It’s the 6th of August 2023. It’s our home’s anniversary, and we have prepared a very special gift for you. Introducing our new Lion Skin, inspired by the kit used in 2003, celebrating the 20 years of Estádio José Alvalade’s existence. A unique jersey that completes a virtuous triangle between Sporting CP, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Nike. The best in the world united in one, and a memorable jersey.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who is currently 39 years old, wore a number 7 on the back of his kit during his prime days in Real Madrid. He also wears the same number for Portugal. Back in 2002-2003, he was given the number 28 shirt as he soon entered the senior squad. Sporting CP recognizes the significance of the number 7 as they stated:
The seven. Lucky number? Only we know that luck is dressed in effort, dedication and devotion. There are numbers that leave a legacy because, behind them, there are people who build it day after day.
Ronaldo Return To Sporting CP?
Cristiano is currently 39 years old, and he plays as a forward for the Saudi club, Al Nassr. However, his contract will expire in the summer of next year. Many professionals expect the ex-Real Madrid player to return to Sporting CP next year. Portugal is home for Ronaldo and Sporting CP was the start of his splendid career.
Some rumors even suggest that Sporting CP has unveiled the kit in honor of Cristiano Ronaldo because he will be back at the club eventually. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will return back to the club where he started his career. He can bid farewell to football by playing for one last time in Sporting CP. Ronaldo can still perform well at his childhood club as his stats for Al Nassr are extremely good.
