Pinker was created to address the safety concerns of women. Many women feel uncomfortable or unsafe when traveling with male drivers. Pinker offers a solution by creating a safe space for women during their rides.

Mónica Faneco explained that Pinker’s main goal is to give women peace of mind. She hopes it will make women feel more confident when requesting a ride. By having female drivers Pinker builds trust and removes the concerns women might have with other services.

She said:

We want to bring security and confidence to women in our services, being an alternative to what already exists

Mónica avoided directly criticizing other platforms but she emphasized that Pinker’s focus on women’s safety makes it unique.

The Idea Behind Pinker

The idea for Pinker first came to Mónica in 2019. At that time, she wanted to start a service for events and transfers exclusively for women. The concept grew into something bigger during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mónica explained:

It is a 100% Portuguese application, which was not easy to create from scratch, there was a lot of investment, but we managed to deal with everything in a calm way to get it up and running

The pandemic gave Mónica time to refine her plans and think about the needs of women in transportation. This led her to create a full taxi platform designed for women.

Building the platform was not easy. It required significant investment and hard work. Despite the challenges, Mónica and her team stayed focused and calm. They worked step by step to make sure everything was ready before launching the service.

Pinker Taxi Service Launch Date

Pinker will start operating in Lisbon soon. The exact launch date has not been announced. Mónica said the service will begin by the end of this week or early next week. After Lisbon, the company plans to expand to Porto and other cities in Portugal.

The response to Pinker has been very positive. More than 1,000 female drivers have already shown interest in joining the platform. This shows there is strong support for the service.

She added:

Men have daughters and wives, so they tell me that it is a very good alternative as it is aimed at women and has only female drivers

Women have welcomed the idea of Pinker. Many feel it is a much-needed service that understands their concerns. Men have also praised the platform.

Mónica explained that men have shown support because they want their wives, daughters, and other female relatives to feel safe. They see Pinker as a reliable and thoughtful option for women.

Pinker is fully licensed to operate in Portugal and across Europe. This means it follows all the rules and regulations for ride-hailing services.

Mónica said the company worked hard to meet these requirements. By following the law and maintaining high standards, Pinker ensures the safety and trust of its users.

Pinker is not just about providing a safe ride. It is also about empowering women. By hiring female drivers, Pinker creates job opportunities for women. This can help them earn income and gain independence.

The service also sends a strong message about gender equality. It demonstrates how companies may respond to certain needs and provide solutions that improve people’s lives.

Challenges For Pinker

Pinker will face some challenges as a new service. It needs to build a loyal customer base and compete with big names like Uber and Bolt. Maintaining high standards and expanding to new cities will also require effort.

However, Pinker’s focus on women gives it a clear advantage. It can attract a dedicated group of users who value safety and comfort by addressing a specific concern.

The future looks promising for Pinker. It can inspire similar services in other countries as it grows. Its success might encourage more women focused solutions not just in transportation but in other areas too.

Pinker is more than just a taxi service. It is a platform designed with women in mind. By offering safety, comfort, and empowerment, Pinker is changing the way women experience transportation in Portugal
