Christmas season marks its beginning in Coimbra district as Castelo Mágico arrives at Montemor-o-Velho. This event is always celebrated every Christmas which brings the local people together in harmony. The famous event has returned to Montemor-o-Velho and will run until the end of December.

Christmas Season Begins In Coimbra

Coimbra is one of the popular districts of Portugal which holds some of the beautiful places within the country. The Christmas event is marked by the return of the most famous event in Montemor-o-Velho known as “Castelo Mágico”. This event is most celebrated by the people of the nearby village along with Baixo Mondego. The duration of Castelo Mágico is 19 days, and the cost of everyday entry is the same.

The price of the tickets for the event ranges according to the age group of the people. Castelo Mágico event tickets for daily purposes are as follows:

  • 5 Euros: Children aged 3 to 12 years
  • 6 Euros: For young children to adults aged 65 years
  • 5 Euros: Adults over 65 years.

Once citizens buy these tickets, they are allowed to utilize all the activities that the event offers. These activities include some entertainment plans, shows, fun games, and other stuff. This event offers diverse kinds of activities which can involve people of all ages. Castelo Mágico has managed to attract all kinds of people from different regions of Portugal. Tiago Castelo Branco from the company Memories of Tomorrow (MOT) has stated this event is the best fit for every age group.

International Tourists Take Part In Castelo Mágico

Although many local citizens take part in Castelo Mágico, however, some international tourists tend to visit. Some tourists from Spain and Brazil are reported to be attending this event in Montemor-o-Velho. These international tourists travel to Portugal just to take part in this event. Some management staff have informed people how difficult it is to hold this event in one of the central regions of the city. The purpose of MOT company was to start a business that is 100% profitable. Tiago Castelo Branco stated:

There are offers for all tastes, from fairs to Christmas markets and theme parks. We wanted to create our own identity that is now a national reference, there is no child who doesn’t know Nico and no girl who doesn’t want to be the Princess.

This event is not just a fun fair, it is more than that. People come here to interact with Portuguese from different regions and have a good time during Christmas. The activities include some staged stories and a theatrical show that entertains activities like slides and bungee jumps. Some other fun activities include a 3 Kilometer night walk which is liked by many participants. Another main attraction of this event is the house of Santa Claus which is most popular among all the children who attend the festival.

Budget Of Castelo Mágico Is 382,000 Euros

The mayor has revealed that the budget for the ‘Magic Castle’ event is 382,000 Euros. The cost for this year has increased by 40,000 Euros compared to last year. This increase has been caused due to the rise in infrastructure and equipment costs. Another reason for the increase in prices is that Castelo Mágico has acquainted the services of specialized people who can help in entertaining the children at the event.

Tiago Castelo has ensured that there have been no incidents in the previous events organized so far. This is also possible due to the support of the medical team and the responsibility of the authorities. More than 40,000 people came to the Castelo Mágico in Montemor-o-Velho last year. The daily capacity of the event was recorded as 2,500 people every day. This event is often called the paradise of children and a happy place for adults.
