The Spanish brand Mercadona has announced they will open their store in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. This store will be opened at the heart of the city by the year 2025. Citizens are happy to see another international store open in their country.

Mercadona Announces To Open In Lisbon

Mercadona will open its first-ever store in Lisbon. This company has many supermarkets in Spain. Now, the owners have decided to bring this supermarket store to Portugal. It will be completely opened by 2025. This store will be in Santa Clara, which lies in the Alta de Lisboa area. Work has already begun by the company to open this store as soon as possible.

A brand-new supermarket will be constructed in Lisbon city. This supermarket will have a Co-innovation Center along with a corporate office. Mercadona has already sent their workers to ensure their store opens on time. There are more than 100 employees of the company that are already present in the country. They are working at various locations to make this branch opening successful. These employees are involved in logistics work at this moment. Mercadona has also sent some employees to the human resources department.

Famous Supermarket Mercadona To Build A Bigger Supermarket

The company already has 5 supermarkets in the greater Lisbon area. Two of these markets are located in Sintra, one is in Oeiras, one is in Alverca and the fifth one is located in Torres Vedras. They will open their third store in Sintra in the year 2025. The building of supermarket will be built on 5000 square meters of land. This also includes a complete floor for the management of the supermarket. It will have some offices, and a special area dedicated to customer help.

This new store will also have an underground parking for the management staff and customers. It will also be in communication with Mercadona Efficient Store which is responsible for the excellent services. It will also monitor the purchasing of customers, improvement in products, and other services.

Mercadona opened its first-ever supermarket in Portugal back in the year 2019. This store is located in Porto city in the Vila Nova Gaia area. The central offices of the company lie near this store. The company is already ensuring the quality of the supermarket through its 100 employees in the country. These employees are working hard to make sure that the quality of the supermarket remains the same as in Spain.

The development of the land for this project will be controlled by the SGAL (Sociedade Gestora da Alta de Lisboa). This newly constructed supermarket will have solar panels on the roof to accommodate economic electricity bills. This also ensures that renewable energy is used for the newly built store. The store will have various varieties of items including fish markets, butcher shops, pet stores, bakery, fruits and vegetable stores, food places, and much more.
