The Government of Portugal wants immigrants to follow the construction deadlines of the PRR plan. The main purpose of this is to make the entry of immigrants easier within Portugal.
Immigrants To Follow PRR Plan
Portugal is following a PRR (Plan for Recovery and Resilience) plan, and the government wants the immigrants to follow the rules of the PRR plan. All this is being done to make the process of immigration much easier. According to statistics, 80,000 immigrants are required to complete their work as stated under the PRR plan. The news reads as follows:
Since June, the government has been analyzing the creation of a mechanism to allow immigrants to enter the country to work in the construction sector. Companies will have to guarantee a labor contract, residency, and training.

According to the news, the Government of Portugal is looking for more workers who can complete the construction work under PRR. Even some of the opposition parties agree with this construction work done by the immigrants. The Inicitiativa Liberal party has given an official statement which reads as follows:
If people enter with a work contract, with a work visa, if public entities have the administrative capacity to fit these people in, and if they have their income, we can’t hold the country back any longer.
Immigrants Can Enter Portugal With Work Visa
Portugal has a dense population, and many Portuguese are going abroad to find jobs. The skilled labor in the country is very less which is why Portugal can use immigrants in the construction sector. According to the records of the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industrialists, the construction department in Portugal has obtained 89,000 workers in the last 5 years. This is only possible with the aid of the immigrants who have the major contribution to these numbers.
However, more than 80,000 immigrants are still required to complete the work laid out by PRR. The deadline for the PRR construction work is very strict and needs to be completed. The communist party of PCP believes that the targeted hiring of immigrants will help both the country as well as the immigrants. There is no doubt that workers are desperately needed for the construction work within the country. Taking services from immigrants will help the country to meet deadlines. The party leader of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), Paulo Raimundo stated:
What I’m not yet convinced of is whether some who live in the reality of propaganda do so because they truly believe in it or because they want to divert attention. And we don’t need propaganda, what we need is to solve people’s problems, people’s real lives.
PCP Aims To Help Immigrants
Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) believes that the Government should make the best of what is present. The immigrants desperately want to come to Portugal and in return work visas can be given to them. The country can use the work power of the immigrants to their benefit. This deal will help both the immigrants as well as Portugal. Although, the immigrants are given jobs, they should have the same duty and the same rights as any other citizen of the country.
All the immigrants should be working legally in any construction sites. Raimundo believes that Portugal can prosper if the right decisions are taken by the officials of the government. Immigrants are what can make Portugal lead in the right direction. Right now, the country needs manpower for the construction sector and the right answer to this question is the employment of immigrants.
