First Electric Plane To Fly

The first electric flight will take off from Aeródromo Municipal de Viseu in Portugal. This marks the first sustainable flight to take off from Portugal. This is a big thing because Portugal will be the first country in Europe to do such a task. The executive director of International Flight Academy (IFA), José Madeira, is in charge of this operation. He states:

The Velis Electro represents our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We are proud to introduce this aircraft to Portugal, demonstrating our leadership in green aviation.

All the people in Europe and around the world are waiting for this milestone to happen. This is a great initiative in the aviation industry. The plane, Velis Electro is manufactured by Pipistrel. It is also certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). All the necessary organizations are well informed about this flight.

How Is Velis Electro Made Eco-Friendly

The Velis Electro generates its power from some lithium batteries that are attached to it. This is why the plane can take a flight of 50 minutes per one charge of battery. The best thing is that this plane is both practical and economically friendly as well. It can recharge itself with only 1 hour and 20 minutes. This is a big achievement for an electric plane which is known to be the first of its kind in Europe.

This electric plane has the capability of generating zero C02 emissions. It also operates with minimal noise while flying. The best features of this plane, Velis Electro are the display graphics, and zero warm-up requirements before taking off. These practices are in line with all of the IFA’s goals for technology use. It will provide them a platform to further make some changes in the future and modify the plane according to their use.

The environmental benefit of this plane is that it is cost-effective. If you remove the cost of fuel and reduce the maintenance requirements, then this plane can work eco-friendly. The flight is scheduled for 11 September. This day will be marked as historical in the history of Portugal and Europe. Some of the prominent figures will be attending the event including the President of the Viseu Municipal Chamber, Fernando Ruas. This is the moment when people will witness the advanced technology of aircraft. It is an achievement of both the local community and the aviation industry.

This offers the Velis Electro to become the first ever 100% electric plane in Europe. IFA also has further plans to work on this electric plane to modify and use in other projects. The vision of the authorities is to further reduce the environmental impact. This provides the new industry standards within Portugal.  It is requested to the citizens to come and support this new project. A lot of planning has been done behind this project by the authorities.
