It has been announced that the firefighters will get social benefits. The Coimbra will give the volunteers for firefighters some social benefits because the job is quite risky as seen by the fire in Portugal.
Social Benefits Have Been Announced For Firefighters
This decision has been announced by the municipality of Coimbra which has deemed that the job of firefighters is much tougher than what people think. They deserve the social benefits like any other profession. The social benefits include free access to equipment of sports to the firefighters. It also includes the one Euro monthly permit for those firefighters who are volunteers. This one Euro permit is for their urban transportation within the city to travel.

It has also been noted that some other incentives will also be given to the firefighters as well. The statement in the paper tells that legislation will also give incentives to volunteer corporations of Coimbra and Brasfemes. This incentive will be given specially to those firefighters who have served for a long time, particularly more than a year. It will also be given to those who have shown some excellence during the past years in the firefighter’s agency.
These are all the social benefits that will be received by the firefighters who have volunteered. It also provides the insurance for some personal accident if it happens to any of the firefighters. This is watched by the City Council where all the firefighters will report for such personal accident. The City Council will take care of all the active firefighters of separate command. The main social benefit for being a firefighter is the utilization of public facilities and apparatus. This includes free municipal swimming pools and some athletic fields. They will also get at least 40% reduced rate on some of the events that are organized by the municipality at the Convent of São Francisco. This can be done by showing the Friend Card which will be given by the municipality.
