Real Time Train Information Launched By Comboios De Portugal

A new system has been launched by Comboios de Portugal which will inform passengers about real-time train information. Passengers will be able to check the status of train arrival through this new feature. It will give the status of the trains across the entire CP service line.

App Launched For Real-Time Train Information

Comboios de Portugal has announced that they will launch an application that will ease the lives of passengers. People will be able to check the status of trains and their arrival timing through this application. This app is a result of utmost dedication from the management teams of the CP. The workers of the company made this app by themselves. This marks a new journey towards the advancement and technology in the railway industry.

The app will be able to tell you about real-time information and offer an accurate train arrival time. Customers can check the live status of their incoming train. This will ease the lives of the people who can manage their time accordingly. This real-time service will be available throughout the entire route of the CP rail network. It will cover all types of trains including the Alfa Pendular and Urban trains.

Customers will be able to follow the live performance of the trains. The app will offer updated timetables for the incoming trains. For any kind of delay, the app will send out a notification to the customers. It will inform the customers whether their train is on time or whether it has been canceled due to any unforeseen circumstances. These updates will be shown on the cp.pt website and the CP app of the company.

Passengers Can Check Status Of Trains

The application of CP will include many features for the feasibility of the passengers. If you go to the ‘Next Trains’ option on the app, you will notice that the live status of every train will be visible. It will show the passengers about every incoming train which will arrive at the station. The app functions in such a way that it will give alerts about delays that exceed five minutes for long and medium-distance journeys. The delay notification will be generated as follows:

  • 5 Minute delay warning on long and medium distances (Intercidades, Regional, Alfa Pendular and InterRegional)
  • 3 Minute delay warning on Urban Trains

CP teams of Information Systems, Operations, and Commercial are responsible for this technological solution. The accuracy of the data is closely monitored by the CP teams. This technology has begun a new phase of modernizing the railway system in Portugal. Comboios de Portugal has given an official statement:
