This will spread more awareness among the students. Polícia de Segurança Pública, PSP has generated a report for the school year of 2023/2024. The main reason for this campaign was to stop incidents related to bullying in schools. The operation conducted by the police will be run till 25 October. All the primary schools will be targeted in this project. It will focus on primary schools for children aged 6 years to 10 years, secondary schools for children aged 15 years to 18 years, and children aged 13 years to 15 years.

A social media campaign is helping people identify the victims and how to help them. This Sunday was known to be the World Anti-Bullying Day. The PSP believes that bullying cannot be just marked with one day. There has to be more effort to discourage bullying. They also believed that bullying cannot be described for a certain age, but it is the responsibility of the whole community.

Bullying is when a person or a group targets someone else and makes his life miserable by teasing him. The word, bullying came into effect in Portuguese by conversion from English. It describes people who act more physically, violently, or intentionally against another person with ill intent to make someone feel down about himself. People who often bully want to cause more pain to the other person.

Bullying Has Negative Impact On People

Bullying has a very negative impact on the people who suffer it. Most of the bullying is done by children when they group against one single student. Young students have to deal with this more often on a daily basis. This can affect a person even when he grows up. Bullying can have physical, emotional, and psychological growth as well.

There is a new form of bullying due to more technological access at a very young age for children. Many children make fun of other children online by mocking their clothes or spreading false rumors about them. This type of bullying is called cyberbullying. This kind of victimization might happen and sometimes it can be minimized. It can also go on for a long time before it is recognized or reported by someone. Schools are the most affected areas for this kind of bullying.

PSP Aims To Spread More Awareness

The operation by the PSP will spread more awareness about bullying and the causes behind it. The main aim of the operation is to increase intolerance towards the practices of bullying. Many children are into this bad habit, and they do it without caring about the consequences. The best way to eliminate it is to contact the parents.

Parents can teach their children about the disadvantages of bullying in society. It is recorded that there were 6600 actions carried out in the year 2023/2024. This covered a total of 132,307 students. The number of cases of bullying increased by 6.8% compared to last year.
