Portugal has been ranked 15th place for the safest country for traveling. It has also been ranked at 12th place among all countries in Europe. This will benefit the tourism industry in the country. Many people around the world choose Portugal as their destination for short-term vacations or even long holidays.

The ranking has been released by Hellosafe, an organization that decides the safety factor for a country. It took 35 factors into consideration for ranking countries in the list. These factors were chosen very carefully.

HelloSafe website has published the list on the “HelloSafe Index” for the very first time. This list decides the ranking for every country using some factors. The organization has further divided the countries according to the categories. It has taken 5 categories as the key deciding factors. These categories can be read as follows:

  • Any kind of risk for a natural disaster within the country.
  • The amount of violence within the society.
  • The country’s involvement in any kind of armed conflict.
  • One of the most important categories is health infrastructure and services.
  • Any presence of militarization within the country

Score Of Portugal Amongst All The Ranking

Portugal has been placed at the 15th Spot in the ranking for safest countries to travel. It scored a total point of 25.01. This has also led it to take 12th place in Europe. The complete list for top 35 countries is as follows:

Portugal Ranked 15th safest country after scoring 25.01 points

Iceland is declared as the safest country in the world to travel. It has a total of 18.23 points which took it to the first spot. The points are given on the basis of the criteria mentioned above. The lower the points for a country, the higher it will be ranked. This is why Iceland took first place as it has the lowest points. The points are awarded on the safety situations within the country.
