Portugal is a beautiful country with various tourist spots and every year, people worldwide choose this country as their vacation place. This is no exception for the F1 drivers who are currently visiting the country for a summer break.
F1 Drivers Head To Portugal For Summers
You might wonder which driver has chosen the country as his summer holiday destination, but the answer holds three drivers who have decided to visit Portugal this time of the year. Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Pierre Gasly have been in the country to explore its beauty with their family.
The famous F1 driver, Max Verstappen is currently in Comporta along with his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet. This couple is accompanied by some of their close friends as well. Portugal is often considered a family vacation spot, so most people visit with their friends and family.

Another F1 driver, Pierre Gasly who drives for Alpine has also landed in Portugal. He is accompanied by his girlfriend, Kika Cerqueira and they have been visiting several places in the Algarve. Pierre Gasly has visited Portugal several times and he comes here often.
Lando Norris, a driver for Mc Laren is also currently visiting the country with his girlfriend, Margarida Corceiro, and his friends. It was clear when his girlfriend and his best friend’s girlfriend posted pictures of Quinta do Lago which is located in Algarve.
The F1 race is quite interesting this year where several dramatic, exciting collisions, and beautiful overtakes have taken place. Red Bull is currently ahead in the constructor’s standing while in the driver’s standings, the former champion, Max Verstappen is currently in the lead with 277 points (9 Podiums and 7 wins) while the second place is held by Lando Norris with 199 points (8 Podiums and 1 win).

Currently, the F1 has operated 14 races so far out of 24 races in total. The last F1 race occurred in Belgium on 28th July which was won by Lewis Hamilton. Now, all the F1 drivers are on summer break and the season will resume with the Dutch Grand Prix on 25th August where all drivers will go head-to-head again.
There is an F1 track in Portugal as well that goes by the name “Autódromo Internacional do Algarve”. It offers development in karting, technology parks, sports complexes, hotels, and much more. Portimao was included in F1 for the very first time in 2020. It was used by stars like Charles Leclerc, Daniel Ricciardo, and Valtteri Bottas before in their junior career.
Portimao is a circuit made with elevation changes and it was created when Ricardo Pena rode on the 2.9-mile course. All the curves were designed after testing the car on the circuit. The starting lap includes a downhill road to the last right-hander at Galp Point, which leads back into the pit straight.
