In a move to enhance convenience for public transport users, the Lisbon Metropolitan Area has announced that the Passe Navegante can now be purchased online. The best part is that it will be delivered directly to your homes. This new service aims to simplify the process of obtaining the transport pass.

The TML (Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa), in a statement on Friday, said that.
Starting today, August 2nd, the new Navegante online store allows users to purchase the Navegante card and request home delivery.
TML said that this step will make the public transport system of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area more accessible and agile.
How To Purchase Passe Navegante Online?
It is simple to get your Passe Navegante Online. You can follow these steps to get yours delivered to your doorstep.
1. Visit the Portal
First of all, you need to visit the online portal to apply for the Passe Navegante. The portal is available on the Cartão Navegante.
2. Choose Your Delivery Option:
There will be two delivery options available. If you need the card urgently, you need to choose the Fast Collection option. It can cost you €12, and you’ll receive the card within one business day.
If you’re not in a hurry to get your card, you should choose Standard Collection. It costs €6, and the card will be delivered in 10 business days.
3. Complete the Form:
Next up, you need to download the form from the Metro website. You must fill out all required fields with your personal information. You will be required to attach a recent photo of yourself. You can take and upload this photo using your cell phone as well.
You will also have to provide a copy of your Citizen’s Card. You can use the official id.gov.pt app for this purpose. However, your phone can also be used to scan the card. Once you’re done, upload the form.
4. Make the Payment:
You will now need to proceed to the payment section. There, you will have to pay the appropriate fee based on your chosen delivery option. You will get an email confirming your application. If any documents are missing, you’ll be notified via email.
5. Receive Confirmation:
After your payment is processed, you will receive an email. This email is a confirmation that your Passe Navegante is ready. This email will include details on where and when you can pick up your card.

New customer service channel is intended to contribute to the reduction of queues, as part of the objectives defined by Metropolitano de Lisboa to increase the production capacity of the “Passe Navegante”, reducing waiting times and thus providing a faster and more efficient service. This initiative also intends to contribute to the dematerialization and digitalization of administrative processes, as well as to the reduction of paper consumption and consequent reduction of the environmental impact associated with the company’s activity.
This Passe Navegante can be used on all public transport that runs in the 18 municipalities that make up the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. These areas include Carris Metropolitana, Metro Sul do Tejo, Metropolitano de Lisboa, Carris, Fertagus, CP, and Mobbi Cascais, among others.
