NOS Cinemas has finally decided to open its complex in the largest shopping mall in São Miguel, Azores. Their planned date to open the complex is in October of this year. The company has made some major changes to adapt to their new plans of NOS Cinemas Reopen.
Reopening Of NOS Cinemas In October
The area used for the new cinemas is around 1151 meters square. This area will be used to open 4 new NOS Cinemas. NOS has given their official statement where they explained that the only cinema complex available in Parque Atlântico Shopping Centre is under construction. This place is located in the city of Ponta Delgada. The company gave an estimated date of October when their first cinema will be introduced to the public. Their statement says:
During the month of October, the brand’s first cinema will arrive in the region. It will offer the inhabitants of the island of São Miguel an updated audiovisual experience.

This new cinema came into action after the purchase of cinemas from Cineplace. They have decided to maintain the same number of cinemas. This new cinema will be located right next to the food court of the shopping mall. It will be fully capable of having rooms that will depict 2k digital projection along with a Dolby 7.1 sound system.
New Features Of The NOS Cinema
The new cinema will be much better than the previous one. The company has a full focus on making the experience of their clients much better. This is why new chairs are being fitted inside the cinema halls to make movie fans their number one priority. The people will be able to get their tickets and menu for food from the self-service kiosks. The company has decided to add the feature of self-service kiosks which will have three booths installed in Parque Atlântico. You can go and buy your tickets or your favorite food to eat while you watch the movie.
This purchasing of tickets and food can be done by the NOS Cinemas website or their application. You can download the application on your phone as well. There will be an additional 4 points of sale at the bar as well. The NOS Cinema that will be on the São Miguel Island will have even one more feature. Any kind of birthday party can be done at the NOS Cinema. People can book the place and reserve it for later. Nuno Aguiar, the director of NOS Cinemas has stated:
The entire space was designed to modernize the cinema-going experience and ensure that the best films are shown using the best audiovisual resources in the world.
The owners of NOS Cinema want to be the best when it comes to cinema. That is why they have 214 screens in around 30 places. This data was most recently stated by the Cinema and Audiovisual Institute (ICA). Cineplace comes in second place with 67 screens in 13 locations. It was also stated by ICA that the data shows the Azores had 9 screens in 7 locations. It had a total of 2610 sessions in total for this year. The number of people who came to watch the shows and movies was more than 50,000 in total. It is expected that with the new opening of NOS Cinema, this number will go much more higher.
