Authorities at the Port of Lisbon were very happy to see the port busy. They have maintained a very high standard of the port. Passengers prefer to travel to Portugal because of the famous tourist places within the country. You can read the official statement released by the Port of Lisbon:

The main driver of this record was the impressive 35% growth in cruise passengers in transit, equivalent to an increase from 39,245 to 52,797 tourists in this category, between 2023 and 2024.

A total of 20 cruise ships were also docked at the port of the country’s capital. Previously, 19 ships were docked in last July. This marks a 5 % increase in cruise ships since last year. This also highlights the capacity of the Lisbon port. It is a message to the world that Lisbon Port can receive much larger ships as well. Around 15 ships that stopped at the port had a capacity of more than 2000 passengers. Lisbon Port is not afraid to take much bigger ships and these stats show it.
