Workers In Portugal Have Lower Qualifications

Portugal is continuing to make history as most of the people are employed here in the state. The data from Randstad Research has stated that around 5.1 million professionals are employed. This number is counted for only the second quarter of this year. Most of the employed people have only a higher level of education for their job. The percentage of professionals in the country is around 34.2% who have qualifications of only higher education.

Randstad Research states that around 80.2% of people are recorded to be in the employment bracket of higher education. The research stated:

Only 34.2% of the total employed population have higher education qualifications and, among these, an employment rate of 80.2% is recorded. For those who have secondary or post-secondary education, the employment rate is 10.7 points lower.

The employment rate for people with secondary or even post-secondary education is lower. The 52.4% of the unemployed have not completed their secondary education yet. This process makes it much more difficult for them to get a job in the country. That is why around 44.2% of the people are still unemployed. This makes around 146 thousand people. These people are desperately looking for a job. The only reason for their unemployment is their lack of educational background.

72% Of People Are Currently Employed In Portugal

It is researched by Eurostat that employment is again reaching its peak. This is a good sign for the progress of a country. The Eurostat has revealed that the employment rate has gone as high as 72.2 % as of right now. This percentage accounts for the age gap between 16 years to 64 years old. It is to be noted that this statistic is 1.9 % higher than the average of European countries.

The marketing director of Randstad Portugal, Isabel Roseiro believes that more training is required by the people. There is huge potential for people where they can work and earn more money. She believes that the reason for some unemployed people is the lack of training that is provided to employed people.

Isabel Roseiro believes that this data is very important for companies and people as it will make them understand the reasons for more unemployed people.  Some companies do have training programs that help people to settle well in a job. This data can also be used to remain competitive in the market. It will help the job companies to make informed decisions when hiring their staff.

Portugal is a land of opportunities and people are eager to work hard for their jobs. There has been a rise in jobs and some of the people are seen to be working two jobs as well. The government of Portugal should start training programs for those people who have less education. This way, jobs can be given to people who can work hard.
